Wesley Chapel is unincorporated, so there is no city fireworks show or countdown; the night’s events come from its town centers, its resort and its restaurants. None had announced 2026 plans when we checked. What is settled: home fireworks are legal on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, libraries close early, and schools are on winter break. Fireworks at home: what the law says

Section 791.08 of the Florida Statutes lets residents use consumer fireworks on three “designated holidays”: New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, and July 4.

  • A ban in your homeowners association’s recorded covenants still applies. An HOA board cannot adopt new rules that take the holiday right away.
  • Keep fireworks away from dry brush and roofs, and soak spent fireworks in water before you throw them out.
  • For noise or unsafe fireworks, call the Pasco Sheriff’s Office at 727-847-8102, option 7. For a fire or an injury, call 911.

Events

We had not found a public New Year’s Eve event in Wesley Chapel with 2026 details when we checked. These are the places that run the town’s big holiday events; we will add any New Year’s Eve plan they post:

What is open and closed

  • Pasco County libraries, including the New River Branch Library, close at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, and are closed Friday, Jan. 1, the library system says.
  • Pasco County Schools are on winter break from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1. Monday, Jan. 4, is a teacher planning day with no school for students, according to the district calendar.
  • Trash pickup on New Year’s Day depends on your hauler; Pasco County does not collect household trash. See our trash and recycling page.

Plan a ride home before the night starts. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office handles traffic and DUI enforcement in Wesley Chapel, and the Florida Highway Patrol covers I-75.
